So I got tired of trying that to varying degrees of time and success. Sometimes it would take longer than 10 minutes. Sometimes it would work after doing that a few times and sometimes it would take a few minutes. I got it to work after removing the disc and putting it back in and repeating the process. I thought it was the Xbox considering it's used and I thought it was the disc because it was a little scratched up. Recently one thing that really pisses me off when trying to play the game is that the Xbox I bought sometimes will not recognize the disc. Had Dino Crisis 3 been a third party spin-off released later on in the franchise's life, it would've been less hated upon and would've also been a better game all around. But I argue that that's not the game's fault, rather it was the devs who didn't think it would have been a better idea to explore later on. To be frank the game as it currently stands isn't that bad, it's largely been more hated upon simply because it killed the franchise. Third party would've been the best choice, as spin-off titles are typically experimental titles to test the player base and potentially lure in a wider audience by being third party.
Especially since it was exclusive to a console that further alienated the longtime fans even further by putting a traditionally PlayStation based series on the Xbox. Had this entry dropped another 2-3 games into the series, I bet it would've been more positively received, especially since the additional development time would've likely refined the very experimental gameplay that was also a huge point of argument.Īnd a final note, BEING A CONSOLE EXCLUSIVE TITLE WAS A TERRIBLE CHOICE. While the concepts were perfect for a videogame, I feel we hadn't seen enough of the Noah's Ark Project for it to feel like it was time to move on to more radical concepts yet. I also believe it was released far too early in the franchise's lifespan for its own good. It was far too drastically different to ever be successful as a mainline entry in the Dino Crisis series. Seriously, the concepts and designs were phenomenal and very intriguing as a spin-off title. Unpopular Opinion: Dino Crisis 3 was good, it just shouldn't have been a mainline entry, nor should it have been released so early in the franchise's life.
